Ömer Şahan
Ömer Şahan was born in Denizli in 1969. He graduated from Kartal Vedat Eczacıbaşı Elementary School in the 1980 school year, from the middle school division of Istanbul Kartal High School in the 1983 school year, and from the Laboratory Department of İzmir Yenişehir Health Vocational High School in the 1987 school year. In 1995, he graduated from the Computer Science and Statistics Department at the Özcan Sabancı Health Education Institute; In 2005, he completed his bachelor’s degree in Health Management at the Faculty of Health Education, Ankara University, and in 2010, he completed his bachelor’s degree in Health Education at the School of Health Sciences, Malatya İnönü University; in 2012, he completed his master’s degree in Hospital and Health Management at Beykent University. Ömer Şahan began his professional career in 1987 as a Laboratory Technician at Artvin State Hospital and was transferred to Kartal State Hospital in the same capacity in 1990; He then held various positions in the healthcare sector, serving as a Medical Technologist at the Ankara Provincial Health Directorate and Kartal Training and Research Hospital from 1995 to 1997; as Assistant Hospital Director at Kartal Training and Research Hospital from 1997 to 2001; and as Hospital Director at the same hospital from 2000 to 2003. From 2003 to 2007, he worked at the Istanbul Provincial Health Directorate as Director of the Oral and Dental Health Branch and as an Accounting Clerk for Revolving Fund Expenditures; from 2007 to 2012, he served as Hospital Director at Göztepe Training and Research Hospital; from 2012 and 2014, he served as Director of Administrative and Financial Affairs at Istanbul Medeniyet University Göztepe Training and Research Hospital; and from January 1, 2015, to March 13, 2015, he served as Director of Administrative and Financial Affairs at Marmara University Pendik Training and Research Hospital. After briefly serving as Deputy Provincial Health Director of Kocaeli in 2015, he served as Operations Manager at the Ministry of Health’s Yalova Thermal Baths Management between March 14, 2015, and January 1, March 2017, he served as Operations Manager at the Ministry of Health’s Yalova Thermal Springs Management Office; from March 2, 2017, to December 12, 2017, as Deputy Director of Health for Kocaeli; and from December 12, 2017, to 09, 2020, as Deputy Chair of the Health Services and Medical Devices–Medicines Directorate at the Kocaeli Provincial Health Directorate, and from October 19, 2020, to June 14, 2024, as Branch Director at the Kartal District Health Directorate. Ömer Şahan is married with three children and was appointed Director of Administrative and Financial Affairs at the S.B. Marmara University Pendik Training and Research Hospital on June 14, 2024.
