Istanbul Photography Museum

Turkey's first photography museum was established in cooperation with Fatih Municipality and the Friends of Photography Association. The museum is located in the Kadırga District near Sultanahmet, which has a special place in the historical face of Istanbul, is rich with the monumental mosques of Sinan the Architect and examples of civil architecture around the medieval square, and is home to palaces and elite settlements in the Byzantine and Ottoman periods. It consists of five photo galleries, a photo archive and a library in an area of one thousand square meters allocated by Fatih Municipality in the Kadırga Cultural Center building.

The museum, which has been a dream of photographers for many years, is managed by the Photography Friends Association. The museum has 4 galleries with an area of 60 square meters and 1 with an area of 260 square meters. 118 meters of light path and 120 professional exhibition lighting were used in these galleries. Istanbul Photography Museum; It offers a brand new cultural service to Istanbul with its collections, exhibitions, publications, photography archive, library, events and projects and trainings aimed at the development of Turkish photography art.
