Prof. Dr. Hakan Gündüz graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine (English) in 1993, which he entered in 1986. After completing his specialty training at Ankara Numune Training and Research Hospital FTR Clinic between 1993 and 1997, he worked as Chief Assistant at the same clinic. In January-March 1999, Professor at the Department of Internal Medicine, Rheumatology, University of Pittsburgh, USA, as an observer. Thomas A. Medsger, Jr. He worked with. After working as Chief Resident at Ankara Numune Training and Research Hospital for three years, he started working as an Assistant Professor at Marmara University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in September 2000. He received the title of Associate Professor in 2004 and Professor in 2010.
He served as a faculty member in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Louisiana State University, USA, in 2009-2010. During the same period, he worked in interventional algology at the Southern Louisiana Veterans Health Care System, Pain Clinic. After returning to Turkey, he continued his studies in the field of interventional algology. He has many articles in international and national journals, membership in the organizing committees of international and national meetings, speeches, session chairs, and chapters in international and national books.
He has a European and Turkish Competency Board certificate in the field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and a Turkish Proficiency Board certificate in the field of Algology. He is a member of the 3rd Term TUKMOS Algology Commission. Between January 2012 and October 2021, he served as Head of the Algology Department, FTR Department Head, and Marmara University Algology Program Manager. Additionally, in September 2014, he became a member of the Board of Directors and Faculty Board at Marmara University Faculty of Medicine as a professor representative. In January 2015, he was appointed as the Chief Physician of Marmara University Hospital in Başıbüyük and worked during the completion of the construction of this hospital. On July 31, 2017, he was appointed as the Dean of Marmara University Faculty of Medicine; He was reappointed as dean for a second term in September 2020. On March 19, 2021, he was elected as a member of the Executive Board of the Council of Medical Deans, where he served as the 2nd President.
